European Roulette and American Roulette are virtually the same game, the only difference is that the European game comprises 37 possible winning outcomes (numbers 1-36 plus a zero), while the American version has the same 36 numbers plus two zeros, not one, for a grand total of 38 possible results. The one extra slot (00) on the American wheel means that your odds of winning are slightly better on a European Roulette wheel. Indeed, the House’s edge is literally cut in half.
